The Vinci Expert is the successor to its predecessor, The Vinci. It retains the main inspiration for its industrial design from the "Vitruvian Man" illustration by Leonardo da Vinci. Each component, button, and LED is positioned according to the golden section ratio and Fibonacci sequence. This strategic placement not only enhances the tool's aesthetic appeal but also makes it extremely comfortable to use.
What sets The Vinci Expert apart is its ability to monitor transmission over RS232, RS485, RS422, and fiber optical cable, facilitating communication between devices. It is particularly useful during product development, testing, and commissioning stages. The Vinci Expert supports Modbus, DNP, IEC 60870-5-xxx, and other serial protocols, making it a powerful tool for changing serial interfaces.
The Vinci Expert's body is made from a lightweight anodized 6-series aluminium alloy, providing excellent resistance in harsh engineering environments. The surface of the tool is scratch-proof, thanks to a carefully developed sequence of turning rings. The Vinci Expert can attach to any steel surface with the help of neodymium magnets, offering a unique user experience.
The Vinci Expert can operate in two different modes: Isolated and Non-Isolated. The Isolated mode allows the user to virtually split the device into two and use each side separately. This mode is beneficial when communicating with devices separately and simultaneously. The Non-Isolated mode crosses A and B side communication, useful when the user wants to interfere in the communication line.
The Vinci Expert was fully designed in April 2015 in Vilnius and released for sale in early 2016. The design process was driven by a user-centered approach, with the main demand from professional engineers being the ability to use the product in a vertical position without holding The Vinci itself in hand. This issue was resolved by the magnetic attachment to metal surfaces.
The Vinci Expert has been recognized for its exceptional design and functionality, winning the Platinum A' Product Engineering and Technical Design Award in 2017. This award recognizes world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative designs that contribute to societal wellbeing and push the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology.
